HRCap has officially released our "6 HRCap MZ Generation Career Category Test."


Our MZ Gen CC Test has been carefully designed to help employees identify their career values and intrinsic motivators, fostering enhanced self-awareness, fulfillment, and professional growth.


The test can also be taken by hiring leaders and direct managers to better understand and empathize with employees, in hopes of driving greater engagement, productivity, and performance across the teams.



February 2024 Insight: The August 2023 Indeed study identified the top 8 soft skills that Generation Z needs to develop to acclimate best to the modern workplace. After analyzing market research with candidate feedback and LinkedIn data, HRCap identified the current market status of these 5 skills acquired across the active multigenerational candidate pool to identify which require the most investment for Generation Z candidates. The top 5 skills identified were: Negotiation, Decision-Making, Verbal Communication, Active Listening, and Stress Management skills.


The Gen Z active candidate pool appears to be ahead in terms of acquiring Verbal Communication (18.0%), Active Listening (10.9%), and Stress Management skills (3.2%) than Gen X and Gen Y. However, they must develop Negotiation (49.9%, lower than Gen X at 63.6% and Gen Y at 57.5%) and Decision Making (18.0%, lower than Gen X at 18.2% and Gen Y at 26.3%).


We encourage both Gen Z and prospective employers to stay up-to-date with evolving market needs to best prepare themselves for a rapidly evolving labor market. Also, through workplace collaboration, Gen Z can learn skills from other generations they may need to improve upon.
