For the second time in two years, HRCap has been recognized by NJBIZ with the prestigious Empowering Women Award, alongside 36 other organizations, including Holy Name Hospital, Dress for Success Northern NJ, Rutgers Center for Women in Business, Cole Schotz PC, and Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE).
The NJBIZ Empowering Women Award celebrates companies that demonstrate meaningful action in supporting women’s advancement through leadership opportunities, mentorship programs, equitable hiring practices, and community impact initiatives.
Judges have evaluated organizations on several criteria, including:
Recruitment, hiring, and promotion of women
Mentoring programs designed to support women’s growth
Leadership representation in executive and board roles
Contributions to systemic change promoting gender equity
Philanthropic or community initiatives supporting women
Programs assisting marginalized women
Scholarship or educational support for women
In 2023, HRCap was first honored with the NJBIZ Empowering Women Award for our dedication to advancing women in leadership and creating inclusive workplaces. At that time, the award recognized companies that demonstrated measurable growth in areas such as new initiatives, program development, and executive leadership.
The evaluation process was far more strenuous for prior year awardees given the need to demonstrate significant growth in the organization and impact made on the community. Examples of the growth criteria for prior honorees included:
Expansion in the number of women on management and executive leadership teams
Increased promotion and participation in women-centered programs such as ERGs, mentorship, community outreach, and coaching
Growth in corporate partnerships with female-led or owned businesses
Enhanced funding and support for women-centered nonprofit organizations
HRCap has proudly met all these benchmarks and additional growth criteria by setting the standard for organizations dedicated to elevating women across industries in New Jersey and beyond. Today, more than 60% of our workforce is women, with numerous employees promoted to managerial and executive positions, including our Global Chief Marketing Officer and SVP, Head of Americas. Since our founding in 2000, we have proudly placed close to 6,000 women into executive positions, board advisory seats, and global leadership roles across client companies. For our 1,500+ clients, we ensure diverse slates in executive searches and promote culturally fluent women, leading to a 25% increase in C-Suite and board placements since 2023. Since 2023, female executive placements have increased by more than 25%, reflecting both client demand and our advocacy for diversity, equity, inclusion, and representation in all recruiting and HR processes. We expanded mentorship into cross-border accelerators that support Asian American and women leaders.
As the only Asian American–founded, women-led HR firm of our scale, our blend of cultural fluency, global reach, and legacy-building mindset means we place multicultural women into leadership by transforming organizations, bridging East and West, and inspiring equitable change in industries worldwide. CMO Stella's DEI-focused thought leadership has also continued to be spotlighted as Korea Daily Newspaper expert columns and in Forbes HR Council Expert Panel articles offering actionable insights for business leaders navigating DEI challenges. Beyond clients and media, HRCap has invested heavily in university scholarships, pro bono consulting, and career workshops that empower underrepresented women and young professionals in our communities. HRCap has served as a living example of a global platform where women redefine leadership, transform industries, and power the future of work with equity at the center.
“We are honored to be recognized once again by NJBIZ,” said Chief Marketing Officer Stella H. Kim, “Empowering minority and advancing women have always been central to our mission, and this recognition reinforces the importance of fostering workplaces that are both equitable and inclusive, where talent can thrive regardless of gender and race.”
HRCap will be attending the award ceremony on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at The Marigold in Somerset. With this second award, HRCap reaffirms our dedication to promoting women’s leadership, advocating for equity, and making meaningful contributions to both corporate and community advancement.
