HRCap Celebrates 2023 AAPI Heritage Month

As a global Asian American company, HRCap is committed to raising greater awareness, empowering the community, and celebrating AAPI leaders. We are committed to using our voices and sharing our resources to drive meaningful initiatives to celebrate and commemorate the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month.

History Behind AAPI Heritage Month

AAPI Heritage Month commemorates the historical and cultural contributions of AAPI in the United States.

Though the push to recognize AAPI began in 1977, it was not federally recognized until later. In 1990, President George H.W. Bush signed a law temporarily proclaiming May as Asian Pacific American Heritage. Then in 1992, Horton and other co-sponsors introduced legislation, Public Law 102-450, to permanently designate May as the commemorative month, which was officially passed by Congress.

Our Initiatives

In celebration of AAPI Heritage Month, HRCap will be highlighting and celebrating notable AAPI leaders that have made a positive impact in their industries and communities. From historical activists to modern-day business leaders, we hope to present the amazing contributions of AAPI to U.S. history to recognize and appreciate how far the AAPI community has come so far.

HRCap takes pride in having great Asian American representation in-house with multigenerational, multicultural, and multilingual teams that speak over 12 different languages fluently. As HR advisors and cultural coaches, our teams use data-driven research and case studies to help our clients and candidates navigate various cultural nuances and generational differences. In light of AAPI month, we are committed to sharing leadership training and career development resources with the greater public.

Additionally, it is our mission to identify, support, and empower the next generation of multicultural leaders that will be making an impact in the future workforce. As such, HRCap has launched our second annual “HRCap Next-Gen Leadership Scholarship” for college and graduate students who identify as AAPI or are majoring in Asian Studies/Language. We hope to continue to propel and strengthen the AAPI community.

Conclusion

With our 23rd company anniversary coming up on June 7, 2023, we reflect on our humble beginnings as a Korean American recruiting firm to now the largest Asian American Total HR Solutions Provider and a Global Top 10 Executive Search Firm. We have become a strategic business partner to over 1000 clients and a trusted career advisor to over 60,000 candidates. We have stepped up to give back and leaned in to build greater synergy within our local AAPI and global communities. We are humbled to lead and excited to empower others on our journey.

Celebrate AAPI Heritage Month with us by following us on LinkedIn to see how AAPI leaders have contributed to American history. We also encourage you to share our scholarship with those who may be interested.
