On Tuesday, August 1, 2023, NJBIZ (New Jersey’s leading business journal) held its inaugural NJBIZ Empowering Women Award Ceremony at The DoubleTree by Hilton Somerset.
Over 200 people gathered to attend this year’s inaugural award program to recognize and celebrate the 53 organizations that have shown a strong commitment to supporting and elevating women across the state of New Jersey.
The event started with networking over breakfast, followed up with a warm welcome from AnnMarie Karczmit, the General Manager of NJBIZ. To highlight how each company took initiatives to empower women, NJBIZ compiled and shared video testimonials of women executives and key women members of the organization. Our CMO Stella H. Kim and Recruiting Manager Carlene Tauro spoke up to share their thoughts on women empowerment at HRCap.
HRCap is committed to driving greater representation of women of color. Internally, we offer flexibility to ensure women leaders continue their education, advance their careers, and add unique value. Externally, we are also breaking the glass and bamboo ceilings by encouraging client groups to be much more inclusive and compliant in their hiring processes, and coaching women leaders to step up and lean in to truly realize their potential.

At HRCap, we always have the opportunity to have our voices to be heard and coach and uplift each other. Jeff Kanige, the Editor of NJBIZ, then officiated the awards presentation and presented each company's women leader with their Empowering Women Award plaque. He explained how an independent panel of six expert judges had evaluated all nominations and NJBIZ awarded honorees based on (1) the company’s track record of recruiting, hiring, and promoting women in their organization; (2) whether the company has a mentoring program for women; (3) how the company works toward systemic change in society to combat inequality; and (4) how the company supports programs that assist marginalized women.
NJBIZ awarded HRCap given our proven commitment to lifting women in our organization and communities. We have built global inclusive workplaces, empowered women through mentorship and scholarships, and provided equal opportunities through diverse hiring,
Stella H. Kim and Sonia Singh attended the award ceremony and were amazed by each company’s initiative to effectively promote women empowerment and drive greater women representation.

NJBIZ had also previously named HRCap a 2021 NJBIZ Best Places to Work in New Jersey, and had awarded our CEO & Founder, Andrew Sungsoo Kim, with the 2022 NJBIZ ICON Award and our Managing Director & CMO, Stella Kim, with the 2022 NJBIZ Best 50 Women in Business Award.
