US-Korea Conference (UKC) 2018 Launches Inaugural Public Session for Greater NY Public

[Registration for the UKC 2018 Public Session]

We are very fortunate to host US-Korea Conference 2018 in New York this year, and to launch the inaugural UKC 2018 Public Session to ignite the greater NYC community to come together. As the organizing Partner for UKC 2018, HRCap is spearheading all design and planning efforts for the first ever UKC Public Session intended to educate and give back to the Greater NY community. The UKC 2018 Public Session will open up with a Career Seminar that provides key expert insights into successful job search strategies and career development tips. We will also be launching all day Job Fairs with Fortune 500 and key industry leaders from both Korea and the U.S. who are actively looking for new talent to join their organizations and are eagerly looking to network with every participant. The afternoon program will include VIP Lectures and Panel Discussions that are centered around science and technology: how it strengthens US-Korea relations and deepens Korean-American roots here in the greater NYC area. Since the Public Session will be held in parallel to the UKC 2018 Scientific Symposiums, it will provide an outlet of inspiration for the general public to experience first-hand what the world of disciplinary science has to offer. Successful Commencement of the 2018 NY Road to Employment Career Seminar

The 1st New York Road to Employment Career Seminar hosted by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in New York (주뉴욕총영사관) was successfully completed on Wednesday May 30th, 2018. As an expert in global headhunting and executive search for almost 20 years, HRCap successfully organized and meaningfully provided subject expertise to the next generation Job seeking students in the Greater New York Area. Over 40 Foreign Korean Students registered and attended the seminar. Student participants ranged from college freshmen through PhD and postdoc students in varying fields across Economics, Engineering, Marketing, HR, Pharma, Fine Arts and Fashion. The Career Seminar provided early tools and meaningful insights to Korean foreign undergraduate and graduate students, so that they can be better equipped for successful employment in the United States.

The Road to Employment Career Seminar launched with welcome remarks by Consul General Ambassador Hyo-Sung Park and opening remarks by HRCap CEO Mr. Sungsoo Andrew Kim. The seminar provided key information and personalized consultation to attendees who wanted to effectively plan for their road to employment. The lecture series were conducted by Stella H. Kim (HRCap's Global Team Lead and Executive Search Director) and Tae Won You (HRCap's Bilingual Market Lead Recruiter and Local Team Assistant Manager) offered unique direction, actionable tips, and realistic “know-hows” on everything from resume writing, job search, company contact, interview prep, offer negotiations, job transitions, and successful assimilation into a new job. HRCap invited successful professionals who spoke about their own experiences, challenges and learning. Our HRCap CEO Mr. Sungsoo Andrew Kim moderated a Panel that consisted of KSEA President (Stephen Suh), HR Executive of Pantos USA (David Yoon), a US Visa Immigration Lawyer (Chejin Park), KOTRA's K-Move Leader (Junsup Park), and HRCap's Recruiting Managing Director (Sean Kim). The panel discussed turning challenges into opportunities for a successful road to employment in the United States, and answered specific questions from the attendees. HRCap’s seasoned recruiters also provided detailed resume review feedback for each seminar participant, who requested this service upon registration. There was also a networking lunch with guest speakers from the Career Seminar event collaborators, KOTRA and KSEA (Korean American Scientists and Engineers Association). A survey was conducted at the conclusion of the Career Seminar and the overall response was very positive. The participants found the lecture content to be realistic and applicable and the panel discussion to be eye-opening and inspirational. They requested more seminars to be organized in other cities and much more frequently. Everyone involved with the planning and organizing of the Career Seminar agreed that this should become an annual event. In fact, UKC 2018 Public Session will open up both days with the Career Seminar (now conducted in English for the general NY community) from 8am - 10am. Please share the news with all job seekers.
