HRCap Receives 180 Submissions for the 2022 Next-Gen Leadership Scholarship

In the spirit of identifying and developing the next generation of AAPI leaders, HRCap launched our first-ever scholarship in May and officially closed the program yesterday, August 31, 2022.
We have begun our review and are amazed at the amount of talented young AAPI leaders that have been making a significant difference and impact in their communities and how they embody HRCap core values.
We received 180 unique submissions from student leaders with close to 25 distinct ethnic Asian groups. Many were multicultural Asian-Americans, while some were adopted and passionate about realizing their Asian roots. Few applicants were highly interested in learning Asian studies and languages. We saw geographic diversity with representation across 156 cities and 140 colleges and universities in the United States.
Students were required to share transcripts and write essays asking them to elaborate on what the AAPI culture means to them, why they are interested in Asian American studies/languages, and how they demonstrate HRCap values, such as service excellence, professionalism, integrity, cultural bridge, and human development.
Next Steps
With our HRCap CSR Outreach Members and HRCap Scholarship Jury Panel, we will carefully review and judge the scholarship applicants based on their academic rigor, the quality of essays, and the strength of leadership displayed in their essays.
The top 25 applicants will qualify for coverage of their personal essay, 1:1 mentoring and career coaching on interview prep, and career path counseling, while the top 6 will receive scholarship money for tuition support.
We are looking forward to announcing our final 6 scholars on Friday, September 30, 2022, and are very excited to celebrate and share their exceptional leadership with our greater communities.
