From November 2nd to November 3rd, the Global HR Forum 2022 was held onsite for the first time in three years at Grand Walkerhill Seoul hotel in Gwangjang-dong, Seoul.
Established in 2006, the Global HR Forum is co-hosted by the Ministry of Education, The Korea Economic Daily (Hankyung), and the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education & Training.
The agenda for this year’s forum “The Next Talent in the Era of Grand Transition” was to address how to foster talent to lead the era of great transition in a rapidly changing work landscape amid political conflicts, infectious diseases, and rapid scale-up of digital transformation.
Over 3,000 audience members attended 27 live sessions with over 90 speakers, including José Manuel Barroso, Former President of the European Commission, Teruo Fujii, President of The University of Tokyo, and Philippe Aghion, Professor of College de France and INSEAD.
During Plenary Session 6, Stella Kim (our Managing Director of Global Digital Transformation and Founder of Executive Search Practice), Tony Park (Head of Toss/Viva Republica’s People and Culture team), and Min-Seok Kim (Director of Coupang’s PMO and Recruiting Operations), presented on the topic of “Equity and New Organizational Culture of Millennials and Generation Z.”
With her understanding, expertise, and interactions with candidates, Stella shared HRCap's 6 MZ Generation Career Categories by highlighting the trends and expectations of the Millennial and Z Generation “MZ Gen” she analyzed over the past three years with the onset of Covid-19.
After the session’s three panelists presented, Professor Jaeyong Shin of Seoul National University’s Business School, moderated a panel discussion that addressed questions from the audience regarding generational trends. One of the questions was, “How should organizations manage such a diverse MZ workforce with different priorities? Some want to maintain a work-life balance while others strive for the hustle culture to raise their market value.” Stella responded by alluding back to her presentation and expressed the importance of communicating and honoring boundaries as a way to acknowledge, empathize, and honor their unique career goals.

The panel discussion was also covered in a separate Hankyung article summarizing each panelist’s thoughts on how their respective companies implement organizational equity executive meaningful strategies on attracting, developing, and retaining MZ Generation talent.
